Techno Bits UK Contaminated Land RegimeThe "polluter pays" regime, as required by the Environment Act 1995 is experiencing further delays in its implementation. Once in place, local authorities will need to prepare and implement strategies for identifying contaminated land sites, the purpose of which is to apportion liability for pollution to the appropriate parties. UK Governmental delays mean that the regulations and guidance may not be in place until April 2000.
