ECA Energy Technology List Expanded Again

The Energy Technology List details the range of energy-saving products and technologies that can qualify for 100 per cent first year allowances under the Enhanced Capital Allowance [ECA] scheme. This year's budget includes eight newly proposed technologies and a number of amendments to the current Energy Technology List criteria.

If these are accepted, they will expand the List and add further eligible products for businesses to claim ECAs and help to ensure that the scheme reflects market demands and technology developments.

Among the new technologies under consideration are:

  • automatic monitoring and targeting equipment
  • biomass boilers
  • compressed air equipment
  • refrigeration equipment
