Techno Bits Geraldine Boylan Chosen as IEMA Regional ChairAnnouncement: New Regional Chair and an opportunity for Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) members from Local Authorities, SEPA or Manufacturing Industry to join the Scotland West Regional Steering Group. Members may be aware that June Thomas has now stepped down from the position of Regional Chair for Scotland West. Steering Group Members have chosen a new Regional Chair from the current Steering Group, Geraldine Boylan, a Chartered Environmentalist and Senior Environmental Scientist with Mabbett & Associates Ltd. Geraldine specialises in ISO 14001 and EMS and is an Envirowise Advisor. She is keen to continue to promote interaction between Scotland West IEMA members and links with other related organisations to share best practice and to help facilitate learning. The Steering Group is open to new ideas and further representation from other sectors; in particular there are opportunities for Steering Group Members from SEPA, Local Authorities and Manufacturing. If you are interested, please email Geraldine Boylan: boylan@mabbett.com We recently welcomed two new members, Jim Byrne from Geodelft Scotland and Thomas Kocinski from Atmel Smart Card ICs Ltd. A variety of input is important to reflect the members' needs, in particular for professional development, events and networking in the environmental sector. The Steering Group would like to thank June Thomas for all her work to date and her ongoing hard work with the IEMA. She will continue to sit on the Steering Group as the Education sector representative as well as representing IEMA Scotland West members on the IEMA Council.
