Mabbett Awarded US Army Medical Command $2.9M Industrial Hygiene Services Contract
Mabbett was awarded a $2.9M firm fixed-price, industrial hygiene services contract from the US Army Medical Command (USA MEDCOM), Army Public Health Center (APHC). According to USSpending.Gov this was the largest single contract awarded to a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firm under the environmental consulting services NAICS code in fiscal year 2016.
“As a former US Army Environmental Science Officer (i.e. Major, MSC) and the Chairman of a VA Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) Verified SDVOSB firm, we greatly appreciate consideration of SDVOSB firms and the award of this contract,” Arthur N. Mabbett, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer stated. “I served at what was then called the US Army Industrial Hygiene Agency and I am proud to be able to return to and serve the Army at this time. Mabbett, a SDVOSB, along with subcontractor CTC-Enterprise Ventures Corporation (EVC) will assist and support APHC and fifteen Army installations worldwide with conducting and executing on-site Industrial Hygiene baseline surveys, ventilation evaluations and noise surveys and then entering the data into the Army’s occupational health database.
“Mabbett has assembled a well-qualified team including subcontractor, EVC. We look forward to successfully supporting APHC’s mission on this contract,” stated Susan S. Smits, CHMM, CET, TURP, Program Director and Senior Vice President of Mabbett.

Steinberg, PE, LSP, President of Mabbett further noted, “Over the past six months Mabbett has increased its focus on the US Department of Defense (DoD), having won a five year $15M-plus contract with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and now this one-year Army contract.
