Harlan Doliner, Esq. Served as the Boston College Team's Coach for the NELMCC
For the second year in a row, Harlan M. Doliner, Esq. Mabbett & Associates, Inc.’s (Mabbett®) Vice President, Legal Affairs – Compliance, and Director of Marine Technology – Maritime Professional Services Group, recently served as the Boston College Law School Team’s Coach for the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (NELMCC) at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University Law School in White Plains, New York.
The NELMCC is the largest inter-school moot court competition under one roof with fifty-seven law schools from around the United States competing and 150 attorneys participating in grading briefs and serving as judges for the three-day competition. NELMCC tests students' skills in appellate brief writing and oral advocacy and uses issues drawn from real cases to provide students first-hand experience in environmental litigation while also providing a rigorous academic experience. The Competition is distinctive in that three adverse teams argue the issues, reflecting the fact that environmental litigation frequently involves multiple parties — the government, a public interest group, and a member of the regulated industry.
With over forty years of extensive experience as an environmental and marine technology attorney. Mr. Doliner is an adjunct professor for the Law Schools at Boston College and Roger Williams University. He has been a member of the Boston College Law adjunct faculty since 2001 teaching “Environmental Lawyering” and “Law of Clean Water” as part of the Law School’s Environmental and Land Use curriculum.
Mr. Doliner is the founding chairperson of the Environmental Law Section of the Boston Bar Association and served as a Director of the Environmental Business Council of New England (EBCNE), and currently is a member of the Massachusetts Seaport Economic Council by appointment of Governor Baker.
