SITE ASSESSMENT AND REMEDIATION - CURRENT
Increased Enforcement at Chapter 21E Sites
Speaking to members of the regulated and consulting communities on March 23, 2000, James
Milkey, Environmental Protection Division Chief of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office,
identified air pollution violations and Chapter 21E response actions as targets for increased
enforcement activities. At Chapter 21E sites, the Attorney General's Office will focus its
efforts primarily on noncompliance with site assessment/cleanup deadlines and release
notification obligations.
