Techno Bits/Technical Bulletins WATER AND WASTEWATER - ARCHIVED Storm Water Permits Must Be Renewed Final Multi-Sector General Stormwater Permit Issued EPA's NPDES Storm Water Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) was signed on September 28, 2000 and was published in the Federal Register on October 30, 2000. This permit covers storm water discharges from certain industrial facilities located in areas where EPA is the NPDES permitting authority. All industrial facilities covered under the previous 1995 MSGP, in addition to any new industrial facilities located in areas where EPA is the NPDES permitting authority, will need to obtain coverage under the new permit. Facilities will need to obtain a copy of the new permit, make any changes necessary in their storm water pollution prevention plan to comply with the new permit, and submit a new notice of intent (NOI) to be covered under this permit by January 29, 2001.
